For All the Ghosts: Kristofferson San Pablo

For All the Ghosts: Kristofferson San Pablo

Culver Center of the Arts

November 22, 2025 to April 12, 2026

Raised in Fontana, CA, and now based in Los Angeles, artist Kristofferson San Pablo returns home to the Inland Empire with For All the Ghosts. The exhibition explores the ever-shifting nature of home and how the places we leave behind are never quite the same when we return.

The ghosts in San Pablo’s work are many: family members and friends, echoes of pop culture and viral moments, the artifacts of a California that feels both intimately familiar and increasingly unrecognizable. Through paintings, drawings, photographs, and personal mementos, the artist assembles a portrait of these ghosts both within and outside the region.

San Pablo’s work draws from the language of popular culture to also explore the connections between personal and collective memory. For the artist, pop culture is raw material to pillage, tear apart, and reconstruct anew. He reassembles elements of mass culture to reveal the absurdities, contradictions, and hidden histories found within everyday life.

For All The Ghosts is a homecoming. Home isn’t just a place, however. It’s also what we carry, what we remember, and what refuses to let us go.

For All The Ghosts: Kristofferson San Pablo is curated by Nikolay Maslov, Curator of Film and Media Projects.
