Karchi Perlmann
Artist Karchi Perlmann uses two simple steps to create his experimental work Remembering. First, he employs the opening paragraph from one of his screenplays as a text prompt for Stable Diffusion. Second, he disrupts the process, preventing the AI image generator from fully realizing the images. The screenplay opens on May 12, 1945, in post-war Budapest. A Jewish woman, a Holocaust survivor, stands with her four-year-old daughter in front of the destroyed family business. The story is true. The four-year-old is Perlmann’s mother, the woman is his grandmother.
