Boris Eldagsen
The Hunger project images are “vanitas symbols for the future,” states artist Boris Eldagsen. Vanitas paintings flourished in 17th Century Netherlands, portraying objects symbolic of the inevitability of death and the vanity of earthly achievements and pleasures. Eldagsen sees Hunger operating in the space between Dionysian art, Hieronymus Bosch, Hans Bellmer and David Cronenberg.
