The UCR Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo concert

The UCR Jazz Ensemble is a traditional 18 piece big band, whose repertoire spans the last 90 years of jazz composition – from Count Basie to the cutting edge composers and arrangers of today.

The Improvisatory Ensemble: Jazz Combo is a chamber group focusing on small group jazz repertoire and improvisation. Rehearsals include demonstrations of practical exercises to develop an idiomatic jazz vocabulary, discussion of applicable jazz history, exercises in jazz arranging, and development of repertoire.
