Aydinaneth Ortiz will be in conversation with Christina Fernandez on Thursday, October 27 at 6pm on Zoom. Ortiz is a Southern California-based photographer who utilizes documentary, landscape, and portrait genres to examine the intersections among the urban environment, familial relationships, mental illness, drug addiction, and immigration. She earned her BA in Art at UCLA, and her MFA in Photography at CalArts. She is assistant professor of Photography at Cypress College.

Ortiz currently has work on view in Tierra Entre Medio at the Culver Center of the Arts through April 2, 2023. Tierra Entre Medio is organized by UCR ARTS and is curated by Christina Fernandez, artist, with Joanna Szupinska, senior curator. The exhibition is organized in conjunction with Christina Fernandez: Multiple Exposures, a major survey exhibition concurrently on view at the California Museum of Photography.
