Fun Facts
- This artwork was created by Lucia Grossberger Morales who is from Bolivia.
- She has been an artist since she was about 4 years old. Unfortunately, she developed an allergy to oil paints which left her without a tool to create and was very difficult for her.
- She later discovered she could create art using a computer. Very excited by this discovery, she began creating kaleidoscopes with the Apple II computer in 1979. This was very early for creating digital images on computers!
- The outer case of the artwork is only painted in the colors that were available on the Apple II computer.
- The kaleidoscope inside the case of this artwork is further repeated with the use of mirrors!
- This artwork is called Huaca, which means sacred objects, places, or deities in Andean cultures. Andean peoples are indigenous peoples of the Andes mountains.
- This artwork merges the artist’s heritage with her love of creating digital computer art.
