Enjoy a concert of the UCR Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo in the Culver Center’s beautiful Coil Atrium. The evening will feature original music with special guest Josh Nelson, pianist and composer.

The Jazz Ensemble is a traditional 18-piece big band. The group’s repertoire spans the last 100 years of jazz composition – from Count Basie to the cutting-edge composers and arrangers of today. The Jazz Combo is a chamber group focused on small-group jazz repertoire and improvisation.

This concert is directed by Josh Welchez, director of jazz ensembles at UCR, and presented by the Department of Music and UCR ARTS.
