Spring is here, come celebrate with us! Join us for our Spring Reception on Saturday, April 11, 3-6 p.m. Free and open to the public. RSVPs encouraged.
Explore new exhibitions, enjoy light refreshments, groove to music from DJ Diya Anantharaman (aka Planet Bones), and experience an afternoon of art and conversation.
- 3:00-3:45 p.m. – Walkthrough of Lenard Smith: Fortuitous Encounters with artist Lenard Smith, curator Kathryn Poindexter-Akers, and Josh Schaedel, UCR MFA ’21 and co-director of The Fulcrum Press
4:00-4:30 p.m. – Dean’s remarks
4:30-5:30 p.m. – Performance art by Ryan O’Byrne, UCR MFA ’26
Exhibitions on view: From Here to the Horizon: Photographs in Honor of Barry Lopez, featuring more than 90 photographs by 50 artists exploring our connection to the land through photography; Lenard Smith: Fortuitous Encounters, the artist’s first solo museum presentation; and MFA Thesis Exhibition 2026, showcasing work by four graduating students from UCR’s Master of Fine Arts program.
Additionally, it’s your last chance to view these exhibitions, closing soon: For All the Ghosts: Kristofferson San Pablo, the artist’s first solo museum show; Lost in the Wilderness: Ansel Adams in the 1960s, a reconsideration of the famed master photographer; and Shaping the Imperialist Imagination, curated by UCR undergraduate students.
