The California Museum of Photography and Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts (CMP/Culver) has been dedicated to the exploration of photography, film, and contemporary art for over half a century. The CMP/Culver presents diverse exhibitions, film screenings, performances, photography and filmmaking youth workshops, family programs, and other public events. It houses more than 500,000 objects in its collection, with strong holdings of photographs, cameras, and contemporary artworks. The CMP/Culver is located in adjacent historic buildings in downtown Riverside, where it welcomes audiences from across Inland Southern California and beyond. As part of the University of California, Riverside, the CMP/Culver extends the university into the city, offering students and faculty opportunities for research, hands-on learning, and creative exchange. The CMP/Culver is an accredited organization recognized by the American Alliance of Museums for excellence in exhibitions, collections, and education.
